Purification and Protections Using Salt

Salt is an ancient purification agent that has been used since the roman times, possibly longer. In modern times it is used for forming circles, cleansing crystals, and even warding homes, and talismans.

Among the simple spells you can do for protecting your home, is to leave a jar or bowl of salt where pets can't get to it. You can add a crystal to the top of the salt in order to add some 'oomf' to it's power. Charge the salt (and crystal if so using) with protection and leave by a commonly used door. The type of salt doesn't matter, though some swear by sea salt. The salt will have to be replaced every week, at soonest, every month at latest. You can toss it into a river or lake, or down the drain. Some people even burn it. As you toss the salt, ask the Gods to hear your pleads and tell them of your hopes and fears for the salt.

The other option is to use this charged salt (again, type doesn't matter) and sprinkle it about the house, asking the Gods for protection and purification :) . The way you would do that is similar to my Home Protection , but a lot more general and good for astral cleaning after cleaning day. You just want to sprinkle a little bit of salt, not pour a whole box about. Window sills are important locations to sprinkle this salt, as are entrance ways.

Salt apparently is really good for ridding the home, or placating a resident, Ghost. I can't say I would know how this works first hand as I've only ever ghost busted once and we didn't use salt. It's supposed to be really good for psychic protection as well.
