I generally have one list of colours and use that for everything from rocks to flowers to candles and painting. Below is my personal list. Feel free to use it if it tickles your fancy :)
Yellow - Happiness, sunshine, vitality, The sun, east, spring
Orange - Energy, bright personality, activity,
Red - Passion, rage, anger, drive, sexual energy, excitement, fire
Purple - Royalty, healing, psychic abilities, thoughts
Blue - Calmness, water, emotion, vastness, sky,
Green - Healing, spring, nature, money, growth, summer
Dark Green or Brown Green- infection
Brown - Animals, dirt, growth, nature
Grey - winter, weather, mystery, metals, ghosts
Black - change, mystery, magic, the unknown, North
White - snow, magic, energy, The Gods, spirits/spirit

East - Yellow - Air
South - Red - Fire
