Conures are a small type of parrot found in South and Central America. Most species are known for their bright colours and loud voices although there are quieter members of the family. They nest in tree hollows and are known for raiding seed crops for food.
Again, I'm speaking from personal experience here and not going on anything I've been able to research. Conures are expressive, usually vocally and people with this totem either have much to say or need to watch what they say. They are playful and often goofy birds, loving to hang out with their handlers and laying on their backs to sleep. They are known to be used in color magic among the indian tribes in central and south America. They are also known to be messengers between Gods and Humans because of their ability to mimic speech. They are normally good parents although they can be very selective with their friends and mates.
