Updates on Arcee and Springer

First off the hop is that Arcee's name has been changed in spelling to RC. It just suits her better. She's also co-owned by a young lady from the States named Katey. As she can't have a bird and desperately wants to have one, I allowed her to have RC long distance. Our partnership is that I care for RC and Springer, Rc's mate, and Katey helps me by sending toys and what not. Clear as mud? Good :)

The Conures have been allowed free time out of their cage the past 2 days and like RC's name stands for (Raging Chaos!), complete excitement has ensued. Day one of letting the conures out had me herding them back to the bird room as RC insisted on flying to the floor to play. While she meandered into the kitchen (!!!!), Springer wanted to meet the usually laid back August, my Pionus. Springer was all 'HAI! Be friends?' and August was all ' LIKEFEKNOGOTHEFEKAWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SCREAM OF ALARM!'

It was quite comical, though dangerous, situation. I left Rc to do her thing and plopped Springer back on the play stand. Those itty bitty conures can be easily munched on (with ketchup I guess) by a much larger Pionus, even if August is pretty relaxed.

Today, several hurdles were overcome. First RC was the first to fly to me. She sat by my hair and preened me. Then Springer came by and joined her. Then they explored the floor. I set up some things for them to climb by the computer so they could join me. Then they went back to their cage for a time, only to fly back to me again (the second big hurdle), where Springer allowed me to pet his head and beak. Then he asked for me to let him on my hand, where promptly bit me. Twice. It hurt, sure, but it wasn't the worst I've ever had. I find budgie and cockatiel bites much worse for some reason.

I have a turd ton of videos of these incidents on youtube, minus the Springer preening me and biting me thing. You can find my Channel at: https://www.youtube.com/user/vampiricconure
